Our Services
Helping Children Build Skills for Life
At Excelencia Behavioral Therapy, we provide compassionate, bilingual ABA therapy designed to help children build meaningful skills and confidence in everyday life. Our services are individualized, family-centered, and delivered in the environments where children learn best.
Early Intervention ABA
Our early intervention services are designed to support young children during critical stages of development. We focus on building foundational skills such as communication, play, attention, imitation, and self-help skills using engaging, developmentally appropriate strategies.
Therapy is play-based and child-led, allowing learning to feel natural and motivating while still grounded in evidence-based ABA practices. By meeting children where they are and partnering closely with caregivers, we help create meaningful progress that carries over into everyday routines.

School & Community Services
We provide ABA services in natural environments, including the home, school, and community settings, where children use their skills every day. This approach helps ensure that progress made during therapy translates into real-life success.
Support may focus on following routines, peer interactions, communication, emotional regulation, and adaptive skills, all while collaborating with families, educators, and other professionals. Our goal is to help children feel confident and capable across the environments that matter most.

School Age Support
Our school-age services support children in developing the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This includes building emotional regulation, social skills, classroom readiness, problem-solving, and independence across settings.
Programs are individualized to each child’s strengths and challenges, with an emphasis on practical skills that support participation at school, at home, and in the community. We work closely with families to ensure strategies are consistent, supportive, and aligned with each child’s goals.

Our Approaches
Evidence-Based Approaches
We use a thoughtful combination of research-supported ABA approaches, tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and developmental stage.
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
NET focuses on teaching skills during everyday activities and real-life routines. By learning in natural settings, children are better able to generalize skills and use them meaningfully throughout their day.
Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
A structured teaching approach that breaks skills into small, manageable steps. DTT is especially effective for early learners building foundational skills such as communication, attention, and daily living routines.

Play-Based & Child-Led ABA
We believe learning happens best when children are engaged and motivated. Sessions are designed around the child’s interests, using play and natural interactions to build communication, social, and behavioral skills in a joyful, respectful way.
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)
ESDM is an evidence-based early intervention model for young children that blends ABA principles with developmental and relationship-based strategies. This approach supports language, social engagement, and cognitive development during critical early years.

What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a research-based approach that helps children develop important life skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and gain independence. ABA uses strategies like positive reinforcement, step-by-step teaching, and real-world practice to make learning stick.
At its core, ABA is about more than behavior. It’s about building the skills and confidence a child needs to thrive at home, in school, and in the community.
Rather than focusing on behavior alone, ABA therapy at Excelencia is about:
-
Teaching skills that matter in daily life
-
Learning through play, routines, and real-world experiences
-
Supporting children at their own pace
-
Partnering closely with families
Every program is personalized to reflect each child’s strengths, needs, and goals.
